Cameron Johnson
Cameron Johnson has 16 points, 2 threes in loss
Tue, Jan 21, 2025, 4:20 PM
Cameron Johnson had 16 points (6-of-20 FGs), three rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two 3-pointers against the Knicks on Tuesday.
Analysis: Johnson missed seven of eight games with an ankle injury before returning Sunday and scoring 15 points on 11 shots in 25 minutes. The 28-year-old small forward was able to play 35 minutes Tuesday, but managed just 16 points on 20 shots. It was a struggle as the typically sharpshooting Johnson went 2-of-9 from behind the 3-point line. The Nets have a quick turnaround with a game against the Suns Wednesday where Johnson will have the chance to bounce back.
D'Angelo Russell
D'Angelo Russell has 23 points, 10 assists in loss
Tue, Jan 21, 2025, 4:19 PM
D'Angelo Russell had 23 points (6-of-17 FGs), two rebounds, 10 assists, one steal, three blocks and four 3-pointers against the Knicks on Tuesday.
Analysis: Russell played 31 minutes Tuesday, which is the most he's played in any of the four games he's played in since suffering a shin contusion earlier this month. The 28-year-old point guard led the team in scoring with 23 points and earned a double-double by dishing out 10 assists. Even when Ben Simmons comes back, Russell is going to be one of the primary playmakers for Brooklyn.
Keon Johnson

NBA.com Lineups
The Nets will start D'Angelo Russell, Keon Johnson, Cam Johnson, Noah Clowney and Nic Claxton against New York on Tuesday.
Analysis: Keon Johnson was pushed to the bench for their last game, which was his first time as a reserve since December 1st. However, he'll return to the starting lineup with Ziaire Williams (ankle) sidelined for this game.
D'Angelo Russell
D'Angelo Russell (hamstring) available vs. Knicks

Brooklyn Nets
D'Angelo Russell (left hamstring tightness injury management) has been upgraded to available for Tuesday's game against New York.
Analysis: Russell was upgraded to probable earlier in the day, so his availability doesn't come as a surprise. With Ben Simmons (illness) sidelined once again, Russell will get another start at point guard. He logged 24 minutes in a blowout loss in their last game, but he should play a larger role in this game, barring another lopsided score.

NBA Injury Report
Ben Simmons has been downgraded to out ahead of Tuesday's matchup with New York due to an illness.
Analysis: Simmons was deemed probable on Monday before getting downgraded to questionable and ultimately to out on Tuesday afternoon. In his absence, expect Keon Johnson and D'Angelo Russell to step up and fill the void at PG.
Ziaire Williams

NBA Injury Report
Ziaire Williams (left ankle sprain) is out for Tuesday's game against New York.
Analysis: Williams sprained his ankle during Sunday's loss to the Thunder and will miss at least one game. Jalen Wilson should see an increase in playing time, potentially as a starter. Due to Brooklyn's many injuries, he'll be worth streaming if allowed to start.

Collin Helwig
D'Angelo Russell (left hamstring tightness injury management) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Knicks.
Analysis: Tuesday's game is the first of a back-to-back for the Nets, who host the Suns on Wednesday. With Ben Simmons (illness) on track to play against the Knicks, this may be a case in which he plays while Russell gets the night off. That would ensure the Nets have a primary playmaker in their starting lineup.

Ben Simmons (illness) probable Tuesday vs. Knicks

Collin Helwig
Ben Simmons (illness) is probable for Tuesday's game against the Knicks.
Analysis: Simmons was a late scratch for Sunday's loss to the Thunder, with D'Angelo Russell replacing him in the starting lineup. With Russell considered questionable for Tuesday with a hamstring issue, Nets coach Jordi Fernandez may have an easy decision to make regarding his starting lineup.

D'Angelo Russell dishes out seven asssits vs. OKC
Sun, Jan 19, 2025, 3:24 PM
D'Angelo Russell logged 24 minutes in Sunday's loss to the Thunder, accounting for nine points (2-of-6 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), four rebounds, seven assists, and one steal.
Analysis: Due to Ben Simmons (illness) being a late scratch, Russell was a late addition to the starting lineup. He's still under a minutes restriction, so the Nets point guard's minutes would be limited even if Sunday's game were competitive. With Brooklyn's three-game Week 13 slate including a back-to-back, Russell could be limited to two appearances, which would not do fantasy managers any favors. His availability impacts Keon Johnson, who finished Sunday's loss with six points, one rebound, and four assists in 23 minutes off the bench.
Cameron Johnson
Cameron Johnson (ankle) scores 15 in return Sunday
Sun, Jan 19, 2025, 3:23 PM
Cameron Johnson (sprained right ankle) finished Sunday's loss to the Thunder with 15 points (6-of-11 FGs), two rebounds, two assists, and three 3-pointers in 25 minutes.
Analysis: Before Sunday, Johnson missed seven of eight games, including each of the last two. He was back in the starting lineup in Oklahoma City, and while he did shoot the ball well, the blowout resulted in fewer minutes on the court. The concerns for fantasy managers who have Johnson are twofold. First, Brooklyn's three-game Week 13 includes a Tuesday/Wednesday back-to-back. Secondly, he's been the subject of trade rumors, and while the Nets are reported to have a very high asking price (and may still hold onto him), that may impact how Johnson is used between now and the February 6 deadline.

Sharif Phillips-Keaton
Ben Simmons (illness) is no longer active for Sunday's game against the Thunder.
Analysis: Announced as a starter despite having his status downgraded to questionable, Simmons has now been removed from the lineup and will not play. D'Angelo Russell will start, giving the Nets a true point guard to begin Sunday's game. Joining Russell in the starting lineup are Cameron Johnson, Ziaire Williams, Noah Clowney, and Nic Claxton.
Ben Simmons
Ben Simmons (illness) announced as a starter Sun.
Sun, Jan 19, 2025, 12:48 PM
NBA Lineups
Ben Simmons (illness) is officially in the Nets' starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Thunder.
Analysis: Simmons was a late addition to the Nets' injury report, but that hasn't kept the team from officially announcing him as a starter. Fantasy managers concerned about a potential late scratch can leave him on the bench, and that would be an understandable approach to take, given Simmons' injury history. Cameron Johnson, Ziaire Williams, Noah Clowney, and Nic Claxton are also in the starting lineup.

Ben Simmons (illness) now questionable Sunday
Sun, Jan 19, 2025, 12:33 PM
NBA Injury Report
Ben Simmons (illness) is now questionable for Sunday's game against the Thunder.
Analysis: Simmons was added to the injury report late, with the Nets adding him 30 minutes before the scheduled tip time. If he can't play, the Nets can move D'Angelo Russell into the starting lineup to serve as the primary playmaker.
Day'Ron Sharpe
Day'Ron Sharpe (eye) available Sunday vs. Thunder

Brian Lewis
Day'Ron Sharpe (right eye injury) is available for Sunday's game against Oklahoma City.
Analysis: Sharpe was limited to 14 minutes in Friday's loss to the Lakers, with fellow reserves Jalen Wilson and Tosan Evbuomwan playing 27 apiece. Evbuomwan will likely lose out on minutes with Sharpe available, but all three reserves should be in the Nets' rotation.
Cameron Johnson
Cameron Johnson (ankle) available Sunday vs. OKC
Sun, Jan 19, 2025, 12:01 PM
Cameron Johnson (right ankle sprain) is available for Sunday's game against the Thunder.
Analysis: Johnson has missed seven of the last eight games for Brooklyn. His return will push Ziaire Williams back to the bench with his fantasy value taking a hit, though he'll remain in the playing rotation. Johnson's return is a welcome sight for the Nets and fantasy managers as the team hasn't been very competitive in his absence.
Day'Ron Sharpe
Day'Ron Sharpe (eye) questionable Sunday
Sun, Jan 19, 2025, 7:15 AM
NBA Injury Report
Day'Ron Sharpe is questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Thunder due to a right eye injury.
Analysis: Sharpe is over the illness that kept him sidelined Wednesday, but he apparently picked up an eye injury in Friday's matchup with the Lakers. If he's sidelined, Tosan Evbuomwan could see increased run.
Cameron Johnson
Cameron Johnson (ankle) questionable for Sunday

Erik Slater
Cameron Johnson (right ankle sprain) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Thunder.
Analysis: Johnson has missed seven of Brooklyn's last eight games, with Ziaire Williams replacing him in the starting lineup. Williams will remain in the rotation if Johnson returns on Sunday, but his fantasy value will take a hit in the short term.
Tosan Evbuomwan
Tosan Evbuomwan records 15/6/2/1 line vs. Lakers
Fri, Jan 17, 2025, 7:03 PM
Tosan Evbuomwan shot 6-of-10 from the field and 2-of-2 from the foul line in Friday's loss to the Lakers, recording a stat line of 15 points, six rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one 3-pointer in 27 minutes.
Analysis: Evbuomwan has reached double figures in five of his last six outings. For extended periods of Friday's game, he was tasked with defending LeBron James, including during “clutch time.” Evbuomwan held his own, but he still isn't at the point where he can be rostered in most fantasy leagues. He'll look to produce another double-digit scoring effort on Sunday when the Nets visit the Thunder.
Ziaire Williams
Ziaire Williams tallies 15 points in road defeat
Fri, Jan 17, 2025, 7:02 PM
Ziaire Williams amassed 15 points (5-of-13 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), four rebounds, three assists, one block, and three 3-pointers in 25 minutes in Friday's loss to the Lakers.
Analysis: Williams has reached double figures in seven of his last eight games, with Wednesday's blowout loss to the Clippers being the exception. Cameron Johnson's ankle injury has opened up a place in the starting lineup for Williams, who's rostered in 13% of Yahoo leagues. Over the past two weeks, he has provided 10th-round value in 9-cat formats. Williams is worth rostering while Johnson is out, and he'll be even more valuable if the Nets trade their usual starter before the February deadline.
